On the 10th anniversary of September. 11, 2001, the American people, as well as people around the world reflected on the nation's losses. Memorial services were held around the country in commemoration of those losses. On the night before, a ceremony for 343 courageous firefighters who lost their lives on 9/11 was held at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City. Firemen from around the United States, as well as from countries outside of the United States, came together while an Honor Guard marched down 5th Avenue and
the largest fire department in the U.S.held the commemorative ceremony.
On Sunday, September 11, 2011, thousands of families gathered at the new World Trade Center site in Lower Manhattan, at the Pentagon, and on a field in Pennsylvania to commemorate the loss of nearly 3,000 innocent lives because of hateful terror attacks. Although these attacks ushered in an age of war on terrorism in the United States, it will do nothing to tarnish or stop the American spirit of those who live in the land of the free and home of the brave
