TODAY IS NATIONAL "GIVING TUESDAY"


The first Tuesday after Thanksgiving Day has been designated  "Giving Tuesday".  The first of its kind it has been launched with the hope of becoming a national event and official opening day of the "giving season"     "Charities, families, businesses and individuals are coming together to transform the way people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season". And as stated in The Washington Post, "charitable organizations across the country are

GIVE SOMEONE A REASON TO BE THANKFUL

It is written that if you give it will be given back to you in return.  It's known as the law of reciprocity
(what goes around comes around or what you give is what you get back).  Difficulties, hardships, and what appears like impossible situations and circumstances can beset any of us unexpectedly at any given time.  Many have the courage, confidence, strength, and faith to continue to stand during and after tradgedy knocks them down.  But many others do not.  It seems that there is not much to be thankful for because all has been lost. But even in the most trying of times, in the seasons of greatest lost there is always something to be thankful for.  We may at some point have feelings of abandonment, We must remember,  'we are not alone'.

These are difficult and trying times for us all, for some more so than for others, yet we all have something to be thankful for.  Why not help  give someone else a reason to be thankful.  Below are some ways to give:

: Disney and ABC will launch a “Day of Giving” Monday, Nov. 5 to raise money for hurricane relief efforts. Starting on “Good Morning America” and ending with “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” ABC shows will encourage viewers to help those impacted by the storm by making a contribution to the American Red Cross.
